This recipe will teach you how to make a Strawberry Caipiroska, one of my personal favorites. It’s cold, refreshing and sweet, so it goes very well with party snacks. Or you can just treat yourself after a long day. The soft crushed ice is just wonderful.
Caipiroskas are drinks inspired by the caipirinha, the famous Brazilian party cocktail. Unlike caipirinhas, caipiroskas are made with vodka instead of cachaça, a distintive Brazilian spirit. Personally I like the vodka version better.
This recipe has brown sugar, but you can always try a substitute of your choice. I don’t indulge often but for this drink I do!
So are you ready for a cocktail? Here we go!
- 4 strawberries
- 2 lemon quarters
- 3 tsp brown sugar
- 1.5 oz vodka
- Place the strawberries, the sugar and lemon wedges directly at the bottom of the glass in which the drink will be served. It is best to use a wide-brimmed glass.
- Grind the fruit well with a wooden pestle or a caipirinha pestle.
- Fill the glass with crushed ice to the edge as it will come down a bit.
- Add the vodka and stir slightly.
